Swimwear Trends and Where to Get Them 2020

As everything shifts due to the current pandemic, summer weather is not changing. Having a swimsuit you love is still on the top of many of our lists. 2020 has brought many things; one being the many new swimsuit trends that you need to add to your summer wardrobe. I often walk on the beach and see a swimsuit I love, but I don’t know where to get it, or don’t want to pay the price. Here is a guide to some of my personal favorite places to shop each trend with ranging prices:

Underwire

The underwire bikini top has increased in popularity over the past couple of years. Coming back from its hiatus, people are beginning to realize how flattering they are!

Pacsun $52

Triangl $99

Free People $108

Minimalist/Simple

You can never go wrong with simple. It is a personal favorite as well. Ark Swimwear is an Australian company I came across at the beginning of quarantine, and I have been in love ever since. With very stretchy fabric, it’s secure and easy to wear. Their simple tops go with most bottoms and vice versa.

Swamis Swimwear $53

Boutine LA $65

Ark Swimwear (everything is $50)

Tie-Dye

Tie-Dye, the most prevalent trend of 2020. In quarantine, many are resorting to tie dye as something to keep them busy. The tie-dye trend has spiked and this year many stores are coming out with new tie dye swimsuits.

Pacsun (top $26.95, bottom $24.95)

Free People $179

Vaya Island (top $59)

Animal Print

The animal print trend has been continuously popular, but is especially relevant for Santa Clara students with the amount of jungle or safari themed events.

Pacsun $49.95

Ark Swimwear $50

Frankies (top $95, bottoms $85)

High Waisted Bikini Bottoms

While it seems like a new trend, just as all trends, it is back from the past. High waisted bottoms were popular years ago, and are now coming back. They are flattering and secure, what more could you want?

Pacsun $24.95

Billabong $39.95

Lspace $99

Knot tied front top

Swimsuits that tie in the front have become a popular, more sporty swimsuit look. More comfortable than many other suits, the tie knot top is secure with no adjusting straps.

RVCA $45

Free People $60

Vaya Island $59

Floral

Floral swimsuits have been an ongoing trend, that's probably because it is such a cute one. Adding a little something to a plain suit is always a nice touch. Swamis swimwear is a brand that I adore, their floral suits are some of my favorites.

Swamis Swimwear (top $43, bottom $58)

Frankies (top $95, bottom $85)

Triangl $99

One Shoulder

Secure and flattering. The one shoulder bikini top is another trend that has become popular over the past few years, and especially this summer.

Free People $68

Pacsun $26.95

Billabong $49.95

Not included are Zaful, Shein, and Romwe. All suits are very cheap, shipping takes time, but most are great for a year or two. When buying from one of these, make sure to read the reviews. They are a hit or miss.
